Warka (Uruk)

It is an ancient Sumerian city located 30 km north of Samawah. The site consists of a series of hills occupying an area of (6) km and a half. It is considered one of the important cities in ancient history, as the first writing in the world, the cuneiform script, was launched from it, and the epic of Gilgamesh, which is the oldest of the epics.
