Imam Mohsin Mosque

A modern mosque, in the locality of Al-Midan in old Mosul, built on the ruins of the Nur al-Din Arslan School, which was built in the year (607 AH – 1210 AD), and only a rectangular room remains of its original features, in which two flat mihrabs of al-Hallan stone are installed, filled with Arabic ornaments and inscriptions containing Quranic verses and names Ancient craftsmen, and parts of the room are decorated with marble friezes inlaid with geometric motifs of white marble.

The mosque was destroyed by ISIS when they occupied Mosul in 2014.
