Al-Zubair bin Al-Awwam Shrine

As for the city that embraces the tomb of Al-Zubair, it was established in the year 979 AH / 1571 AD after the Ottoman authority built a mosque and a dome on the tomb of this great companion, then people flocked to the shrine and started living next to it. This shrine was also expanded in the year 1334 AH / 1910 AD, then it was reconstructed in the following year. The shrine and mosque are now located east of Al-Kut, near Al-Khidr market in Al-Zubair district, and it has been renovated and rebuilt.
