Adam’s Tree

It is located at the confluence of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in the district of Al-Qurna, the city of Basra, in southern Iraq. It is considered one of the most important archaeological and tourist attractions in the area, as it is said that the one who planted it is the Prophet Adam, peace be upon him, and it is said that Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him, prayed under this tree. A large number of tourists visit Adam’s Tree from inside and outside Iraq.

The supervisors of the place placed a large plaque on which was written in Arabic and English the following: “In this blessed spot where the Tigris meets the Euphrates, I had the honor of visiting our master Ibrahim Al-Khalil (peace be upon him) in the year 2000 BC. He prayed here and said that a tree will grow here like the tree of Adam, peace be upon him, in the Garden of Eden.”
